In short

Selling a first home comes down to five moves in order: choose the right agent and an honest, comps-based price, prep the home so it shows move-in ready, market it where buyers look, negotiate the whole deal and not just the price, and walk into closing prepared. This free guide covers each one, and the boxes below show what your home may be worth and what a cash buyer might offer.

What is your home worth, and what could a cash buyer offer?

Type your address once. The same address works for both: a home value from several sources, and the cash offers available for your home. Two cash offers, two different goals: a Quick Cash Offer for speed and certainty, and a Market Value Cash Offer aimed at a price closer to full value.

Independent value estimates, side by side — not one black-box “Zestimate.”

Common questions

How do I price my first home?

Measure it objectively against comparable homes that sold recently, the comps, instead of a hope or a headline number. An honest, comps-based price sets the baseline for everything else. You can request a home value in the box on this page.

What should I do to prepare my home to sell?

Handle the minor repairs, decide with your agent which major ones are worth doing, boost the curb appeal, deep clean everything, then declutter, depersonalize and neutralize bold decor so buyers can picture their own style. Finish with a slow walk-through and set up a clear showing system.

What can I negotiate besides the price?

Often the share of closing costs, repairs flagged by the inspection, the possession or closing date, and sometimes furnishings or household items. Price matters, but so do the terms around it.

What should I bring to closing?

A government-issued photo ID for everyone on the deed, keys, garage openers and access codes, proof that any agreed-upon repairs were completed, and any documents your title company or agent asked for in advance.

What is the difference between a Quick Cash Offer and a Market Value Cash Offer?

They are two different choices for two different goals. A Quick Cash Offer is built for speed and certainty, a fast cash sale for when timing matters most. A Market Value Cash Offer aims for a price closer to full value, with no prep and no showings. Enter your address in the box on this page to see the offers available for your home. Offers are estimates until they are confirmed.

Is the guide really free?

Yes. It is a free PDF that opens right away, with no sign-up needed. Free registration on this site is optional and adds tools such as saved searches, sold prices and listing history that MLS rules limit to registered visitors.
