How do I confirm a house is zoned to Adam Elementary before I make an offer?

Short answer
Enter the street address in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD's 'Find your Zoned School' tool at cfisd.net and confirm by phone ((281) 897-4013 or (281) 517-2187) or in writing before you offer. Do not rely on distance: about 125 homes for sale are within two miles of Adam Elementary, but only about 60 are inside its zone in our data. Our map uses the district's official 2025-2026 zone, and zones can change, so keep the district's confirmation with the date.
What are the steps?
First, get the exact street address. Second, enter it in the district's zone finder and record the elementary, middle and high school it returns. Third, check that the result matches the campus shown on the listing page. Fourth, call or email the district and ask it to confirm in writing, and ask whether a boundary review is pending for the area. Fifth, if the school matters to your decision, make your own record part of your file. The purchase contract does not guarantee a school assignment, so the confirmation is your protection, and it costs nothing. A useful extra step is to ask the seller or the listing agent which source they used for the school information in the listing, and when. Listing text is often entered by an agent from memory or from a prior listing, and it can lag a boundary change. If the answer differs from the district's, the district's answer governs.
Why not use distance?
Zones follow district maps, not circles. Adam Elementary's official zone is about 3.6 square miles, while a two-mile radius covers about 12.5 square miles. On our September 16 page, 125 homes for sale sat within two miles, while our polygon test at September 25 finds 60 listings in the zone, so roughly half of the nearby homes are zoned elsewhere. Neighboring campuses such as Danish and Millsap Elementary are 1.0 and 1.5 miles from Adam. Zone data can also be out of date, which is why the district's answer governs and why we tell buyers to verify. There is no fee for the district's lookup or confirmation. If the assignment is critical, you may ask the seller for an extended option period to finish the check, or to allow time for a response from the district, since the option period is negotiated and the length is set in the contract.
